TB Epidemiologic Studies Consortium (TBESC) Projects

CITC is one of twenty-one sites that participate in the TB Epidemiologic Studies Consortium (TBESC), a network of public health, academic, and non-profit organizations funded through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to perform TB epidemiologic and operations research. Research is carried out with partners at the San Francisco Tuberculosis Control Program, San Francisco General Hospital, the University of California San Francisco, the TB control programs in the states of the western region of the U.S., National Jewish Medical and Research Center, and Denver Public Health TB Program.

Current research projects include:

• Regional Capacity-Building in Low-Incidence Areas
• Enhanced Surveillance to Identify Missed Opportunities for Prevention of Tuberculosis in the Foreign-Born
